Eh. I'm all for getting rid of Saddam Hussein. I would try to explain why,
but since I really don't know anything about anything it would turn into something
about how Saddam Hussein is a Bad Guy and I've learned from the movies that
if you don't do something about Bad Guys they'll, like, put a death ray laser
on the moon, or they'll unleash their army of undead zombie warriors, or something.
So, yeah. I'm in favor of Bush's foreign policy and opposed to giant mutant
radioactive centipedes... So, yeah. That's my Intelligent Informed Position
on the war. Get the bastards; smash Islamic fascism; support Israel; support
our troops.

Theocracies demand conformity, control learning and language. At present, our
situation is more flexible than it was in the past, as we have two theocracies
- the scientific and the Christian - at war with each other.

Guilt is a prison too. Sometimes it's better to let the law find the best punishment.

All a person needs. Bones sweetly reposing. I have no fears of a sudden food

Men always think that women are laughing at them behind their backs. This is
true. Their mistake is to believe that the women are always laughing at their
genitals, when there are so many other things about them to make fun of.

Men trained to recognize and enhance their own anger and aggressiveness in
a society where rape and revenge are commonplace view angry women with alarm...
Men see women project onto them the full extent of their own potential aggressiveness.
The spectre of an angry Fury or Medusa's head striked fear in men, which is
then often awkwardly handled because men are not supposed to display fear. A
woman seeking only reasonable social or vocational equity may be perceived by
a man as being out to get the kind of revenge that his pride would require
had he experienced the narcissistic and practical wounds that she has sustained.

And it'll be tech-awards-only for "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers"
- because not even a billion-dollar box-office wins respect for a movie that
inspires 40-year-old nerds to wear "Ringwraiths Do It With Stealth"
T-shirts or refer to their AMC Pacers as "my preccciousss."

The danger is not that a particular class is unfit to govern. Every class is
unfit to govern.
Learn as much by writing as by reading.
Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
FRANKLIN P. ADAMS
When a man you like switches from what he said a year ago, or four years ago,
he is a broad-minded person who has courage enough to change his mind with changing
conditions. When a man you don't like does it, he is a liar who has broken his
promises.
The trouble with this country is that there are too many politicians who believe,
with a conviction based on experience, that you can fool all of the people all
of the time.
To err is human; to forgive, infrequent.
When the political columnists say 'Every thinking man' they mean themselves,
and when candidates appeal to 'Every intelligent voter' they mean everybody
who is going to vote for them.
HENRY BROOKS ADAMS
Practical politics consists in ignoring facts.
No one means all he says, and yet very few say all they mean, for words are
slippery and thought is viscous.
JOSEPH ADDISON
Men who cherish for women the highest respect are seldom popular with them.
(And men who are popular with women have no respect for them. -Hyel)
A misery is not to be measured from the nature of the evil, but from the temper
of the sufferer.

Do unto yourself as your neighbours do unto themselves and look pleasant.

It is easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them.

A conference is a gathering of important people who singly can do nothing but
together can decide that nothing can be done.

The worst thing about stereotypes is that people tend to act according to them.
HENRI FRÉDÉRIC AMIEL
We are always making God our accomplice so that we may legalize our own iniquities.
Every successful massacre is concecrated by a Te Deum, and the clergy have never
been wanting in benedictions for any victorious enormity.
All appears to change when we change.
The man who insists on seeing with perfect clearness before he decides, never
decides.
The test of every religious, political, or educational system is the man that

If you don't feel a little mad sometimes, then I think you must be out of your

History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, however, if faced with

Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome.
The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries,
